About Waitakere City

Normal Version
Waitakere with 180,000 people, is New Zealand’s fifth largest city and its first Eco City. It was formed by the amalgamation of some of the most historic boroughs and counties in the Auckland Region.

The history traverses pioneering winemaking, artists colonising the ranges, a ceramics industry dating from the 1860s, stunning Maori history, beautiful urban areas and incomparable west coast beaches, rainforest and wilderness in the seemingly limitless Waitakere ranges.
